What types of appointments can your business accept through myCal?

Not all businesses are the same, so myCal allows different types of appointments to be made:

Services are appointments offered by a service provider or business and are generally allocated a fixed amount of time. The amount of time for each appointment can be changed on the business calendar on an individual basis. Examples of service providers are doctors, personal trainers, massage therapists, hairdressers, salons, etc.

Group Events are appointments that more than one person can attend at the same time. You can determine how many people can attend each event. Examples of "group events" include gym classes, meetings, classes, etc.

Resources are bookings for resources that your business lets clients use. Clients can determine the amount of time they need the resource for during the booking process. Examples include tennis courts, jackhammers, and hotel rooms.

How does your business know if it gets new appointments?

myCal automatically emails your business and your client when an appointment is made or cancelled. On your myCal account, there is a calendar showing all of the service providers in your business and their respective appointments. Calendars for every resource and service provider is automatically updated when a new appointment is made. Have a look at the demo video to better understand how the business calendar works:

How does your business ensure that clients get the correct amount of time for their appointments?

You select a time for each service you offer through myCal. You can also set an amount of time between each appointment if necessary. Other types of bookings, like room or equipment rentals ("resources"), can be booked for an amount of time chosen by the client.

What do I need to use myCal?

All you need is a computer with internet access. Simply sign up your business from the homepage and you're ready to get started. myCal lives on the internet and automatically updates itself. You never have to download anything!

What happens if the internet goes down?

As a back-up, myCal automatically emails you a .pdf file of all appointments for you to print prior to the beginning of each day. If your internet goes down, clients would just have to call your office to make same-day appointments the regular way, or hold off on future appointments until your internet is back up.

How does myCal work with my Web site?

If you already have a Web site, you can add a myCal booking button link to your site. If you don't have a Web site, you can use myCal as your web portal.

How do I know that an appointment has really been made?

Clients and service providers receive a confirm email when a new appointment is made. There's an event file attached to this email that you can put into Outlook, Google Calendar or iCal. Your appointment also shows on your myCal calendar. If you're a client, you'll get a reminder email before the appointment too.

Why do clients have to sign up for a free account?

Clients have to sign up so that businesses know who is making appointments. This protects businesses from clients not showing up. The good news is that your clients details are logged once they sign up. Then, you can manage and cancel your appointments all from your myCal account.
